17. Unarticulate: Thoughts Turned Into Actions

In class today we did a majority of different activities that revolved around creativity and the hot chili sauce Sriracha. One example we did was WW_D and we had a list of different characters and actors and actresses to fit into the blank. Doing so I chose Big Bird and I came up with this funny thought that I had to share.

So I know we have all had times where we have gone into the kitchen and thought to ourselves what I want to eat, so we go searching through the cabinets and refrigerator for food. Then I thought what Big Bird would do in that situation.

Just imagine Big Bird going into the kitchen and he’s looking through the cabinet and sees the Sriracha sitting there and he thinks to himself I wonder how hot this is. So he puts it on his finger and tastes it and begins to do it over and over again. Then over time he gets tired of his feathers getting in the way and he slowly starts plucking them off of his hand, as he looks down he sees it bleeding and grabs a Kleenex to wipe away the blood. Getting more obsessed with the taste of the Sriracha he goes a little crazy and begins to pour it all on his arm (wing) and starts licking his entire arm. Again, he gets tired of his feathers getting in the way so he plucked his entire arm and pours more of the hot sauce on it. Then that is when he goes really crazy and gets the Cookie Monster to snap his arm off and ends up deep frying his entire wing. When it finally gets done he poured the rest of the Sriracha on it and ate his OWN wing.

16. Unarticulate: Only 3! REALLY?!

Tuesday I got to class probably 20 minutes early and I was trying to think of ideas that would revolve around the directive for the week and also dealt with Kleenex. As I was sitting there I was wondering how many words I could actually make from the word Kleenex. Surprisingly it was a lot harder than I had expected because I could only think of 3 freaking words. So after class I got back to the apartment and I asked my sister to try the same thing and her mind was blown as well. Then I thought I would ask some of my friends and family members and they did a whole lot better than my sister and I did.  Below are the lists that were done

 KLEENEX

Me:

  1. Len
  2. Ex
  3. Eel

 De’Nelle (sister):

  1. Ex
  2. Eel

 Mom:

  1. Knee
  2. Lex
  3. Leek
  4. Ken
  5. Eel
  6. Elk
  7. Keen
  8. Keel
  9. Eke
  10. El
  11. Ell
  12. En
  13. Ex
  14. Lee

 Keya (friend):

  1. Lex
  2. Kneel
  3. Leek
  4. Klee
  5. Len
  6. Lee
  7. Ex
  8. Eel
  9. Keen
  10. Knee
  11. Leek
  12. Eek
  13. Keene

 Kristin (friend):

  1. Lee
  2. Knee
  3. Keen
  4. Eel
  5. Kneel
  6. Leek
  7. Elk
  8. Ex
  9. Ken
  10. Keel

So what this blog taught me was that I need to upgrade my vocabulary A LOT, filter less and maybe read the whole dictionary because only making 3 words out of my mom and friend list is ridiculous.

15. Unarticulate: Just A Little Rhyme

My boyfriend and his friends are known for always making beats and rhyming to them, so I asked him if he wanted to help me make a little ryhme since thats what he does on his spare time.

I’m not big on rapping but I think I can rhyme

Cause I always seem to have these durn Kleenex’s on my mind

See, whether it’s in class or watching TV

Kleenex’s never seem to get away from me

I got 54 posts to do, trying to think what I’m going to do

On number 15 and got a lot more to do

So let’s see…

What does it mean to me?

I find that a Kleenex is the answer to all my issues

When I’m feeling stuffy or sad it’s the perfect tissue

It’s something I can put all my trust into

Just because I think it can feel my pain too

There’s also nothing like a Kleenex to help rid some germs

Whether it gets blown in, sneezed on or shoved up my nose

I always keep a box of tissues right beside my bed

So when my nose start running, I know where to spin

Laaastly…Kleenex’s are best when it comes to a mess

I could probably use one and nothing would be left.

But… that might not be true

Because it seems like it only works on something right above my chest.

This rhyme took a whole lot longer then what I had expected just because I filtered most of the way through. There were many times where I felt it flowing and then I would stop and re-read it and go back and change stuff just because something’s didn’t sound right

14. Unarticulate: Say What?

It always seems that when you have a lot to do people want to talk your head off and carry full blown conversations with you or someone else leading you not being able to concentrate. I remember last semester when I was studying for my finals and me and this one girl were in the computer lab where I live. Well she wanted to carry a full blown conversation with this guy, on speakerphone, being nice I let it slide for about 30 minutes but after that it just got ridicules so I asked her if she could take her conversation else. Which led into her saying well I was in here first followed by a bunch of bull, so long story short she ended up getting off the phone. That whole time I was wishing she would put a sock in it and just be a little more considerate. Then today the whole image came in wondering what if I actually put a sock in her mouth. Or would it be even nicer if I took a gentler approach and putting a bunch of Kleenex in it, since they are better known for being soft and less smelly.

That is where the video came from. Starting off I made a sock puppet and in the video it appeared the puppet was constantly talking to me as I tried to do my homework. Over time I continuously got tired of it and I stuffed a Kleenex in its mouth and it finally shut up and let me do my work! 🙂

13. Fluid: Swim Fish, SWIM

Fish tank and fluid just fall hand in hand to me that is why I created one for this blog. I started off by cutting an opening on one side of the Kleenex box as well as the top of the box where we usually take the tissues out. For the background I colored a Kleenex with a blue high lighter and ran it under some water to give it the actual water affect. Over that I cut a zip lock bag in half and put that over the background so it wouldn’t get the other pieces wet. Next I colored some more pieces of the Kleenex green so it would look like seaweed as a decorative aspect. I also colored a Kleenex pink and black and wrapped it around a ball of Kleenex’s to make it look like a little cave that the fish could swim into. As for the bottom of the tank I cut up some black foam like material into small pieces to make them look like the pebbles that are usually seen at the bottom of tanks. Lastly I drew, colored and cut out a few fish and taped them to a piece of string which was taped onto a piece of the Kleenex box.

12. Fluid: No Torn Kleenex Here

As I was talking to my friend about my project we came up with this idea to make a non-leaking and non-tearing Kleenex. This idea came up because she has been sick for a week and all she has been doing is coughing, spitting, and blowing her nose every 5 minutes. The Kleenex works like this: On one side it is the original Kleenex, and on the other side it is covered with a plastic material (in the one I made I used tape) to catch any fluids, such as snot, that come from the person’s body. This Kleenex can help in many ways, such as preventing a person from spreading germs, because the fluids won’t go through and get on your hands. As well as if a person blows their nose “powerfully” then it will not tear the Kleenex.
How I made it…first what I did was line one side of the Kleenex with MANY pieces of tape and then I got my friend to blow her nose with it and it worked well. No snot got through and it didn’t tear. I would have taken a picture but I’m pretty sure you all wouldn’t have wanted to see someone else’s snot so I didn’t.
So to show that it is durable I did a test by pouring water on another one just to show you all that nothing gets through it.

11. Fluid: Flowing Tears

‘Many tears have fallen and I find myself wiping them away with my kleenex. Wringing my tears out and watching them fall I look down at the table I see those tears filling my empty cup.’

I made this rhyme thinking about the times that I have cried and feeling like the tears would never stop falling.  The thing that I realized was that they don’t make you weak but only stronger.

10. Fluid: Jumping Fish

There has always been a few sceneries that I’ve wanted to see in my life. A couple would be hiking up a montain trail and exploring the grounds of Africa and seeing all the wild animals in their natural habitat instead of being behind the bars of a zoo. As well as seeing salmon jumping up stream trying to get over a water fall and a bear trying to snatch one. Just seeing their technique is really cool to me that is why I made a image of this happening completely out of kleenex. First I drew waves on a few sheets of  kleenex with dark and light blue markers  and then ran them through water to get the affect of actual water. Then I did the same with a black marker to make rocks but instead I balled them up. After that I drew and cut out the bear as well as the fish and put the whole scene together. The below picture is what I got!

9. Repitition: Marching Kleenex’s

The picture below reminds me of when I was sick earlier last week. It was nothing but a continous  line of kleenex’s making their way to the trash can!Image
